“It’s not a supportive system if you are taking up more time”

16 Aug “It’s not a supportive system if you are taking up more time”

During an interview with McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, Dr. Unroe shared her vision of virtual care that spun out of her work with OPTIMISTIC, and led to the creation of Probari.

Working as a geriatrician in the nursing home herself, Dr. Unroe sees that nursing homes are “working in a system that doesn’t always support good care processes.” Many providers feel interventions of technology and education fall short as they require time and staff, both of which nursing homes lack. The real goal should be working to give nursing homes more of that time and staff back so they can focus on the care in front of them, something in which Probari’s virtual nurses strive to accomplish everyday.
